Hyundai wins a spot in Ward's 10 Best Engines 2009

Ward's Auto has released its renowned annual list of 10 Best Engines for 2009.

Let's say that this year's list isn't quite what everyone (and the respective automakers) expected.

First, Nissan's highly coveted VQ-series engine - one that has boasted its presence in the list consecutively ever since 1995 - is out of the list for the first time. On the other side of the spectrum, Hyundai's new 4.6L V8 Tau engine has been inducted into the list. An epitome of the changing times? Sorry that Nissan had to take the blow for this one.
